Welcome to Routine Refinement!
This blog was inspired by a talk from Bob Harper of The Biggest Loser back in 2010 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center in Rockford, Illinois.
Bob talked a lot about change, making changes, and tearing down the blocks we put in our own way. What made the greatest impression on me was what he said about making the changes you can make today. This means, for example, not starting an intense workout program and changing your diet to all healthy foods tomorrow, which sets you up to fail when you can’t live up to the extreme standard of changing your entire life overnight. Instead, it means eating a banana instead of a candy bar, or walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Small changes add up to big ones eventually.
Routine Refinement is about sharing tips and small changes that we have made, tried, and sometimes failed at making to gradually improve life to achieve those greater goals of living healthy, balanced, and happy lives. You’ll find a variety of content here, from tips on following goals to recipes and food inspiration to reviews of some of our favorite (or not) products. Hopefully you’ll find some inspiration here and join us in making a routine of refining our lives!
